Une soirée improvisée avec GOUPIL connexion (http://goupilconnexion.org/) qui m’a invitée à présenter quelques dessins et peintures de faune sauvage dans le moulin de Cornelius. Ce lieu extraordinaire surplombe les falaises des Gorges de la Vis.

Accueilli chaleureusement par Isabelle et Nico au mas d’Elze (https://www.nomadelze.com/), Goupil a relâché plusieurs animaux sauvages, petits et grands, comprenant : martinets noirs, hérissons, lapins, une chauve-souris et un grand duc.

Des vautours fauves se sont envolés au moment où quinze paires de mains s’ouvraient, relâchant quinze jeunes martinets pour leur premier vol.

Le lendemain matin, je suis allée dessiner sur le causse à l’endroit où Goupil prévoit d’installer une placette de nourrissage pour les vautours dans le cadre d’un projet sur la biodiversité. Une colonie est installée sur les falaises en-dessous. L’endroit est idéal. Quelques vautours fauves planaient dans le ciel. Il y avait du vent. Il faisait chaud.

An impromptu evening with GOUPIL Connexion (http://goupilconnexion.org/). I was invited  to exhibit some drawings and paintings of wildlife at the Moulin de Cornelius. It is an extraordinary place overlooking the Gorges of the Vis. We were warmly welcomed by Isabelle and Nico at the Mas d’Elze (https://www.nomadelze.com/).

Several wild animals and birds, great and small, were released back into the wild, including swifts, hedgehogs, rabbits, a bat and an eagle owl.

A group of griffon vultures flew off as fifteen pairs of hands launched fifteen young swifts on their first flight.

The next morning, I went to draw at the site where GOUPIL plans to set up a feeding platform for vultures as part of a biodiversity project. There is already a colony on the  cliffs below. The setting is perfect. A few griffon vultures were flying averhead. It was windy. It was hot.
